What is your favorite role to play?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for October 31, 2009:

I'm dressing up as an Ancient Egyptian and my service dog is going as a sphynx. Our Egyptian names are Neith-Sheshet (me) and Input (my puppy). My Egyptian name is a compost of Neith (an ancient goddess of war, impartiality, power, hunting and protection, sometimes a creation/mother goddess and possible mother of Ra, later also associated with funerary practices, she is the mother of Sobeck, a god of protection, strength and fortitude; she is sometimes associated with Athena) and Sheshet (an ancient goddess or writing, libraries, scribes, math, science, measurement, record keeping, history and scholarly pursuiets. She is often associated with Thoth as either his daughter, sister or wife and was credited with the invention of writing. Her name means female scribe and may have been a title, thus endowing her with a secret or hidden name.) The name Input is a female derivitive of Anubis (the jackle god, inventer of mummification and protecter of the dead) and also means "royal child".

If you had to found a museum, what would it be about?

Posted on Oct 31st, 2009 by Darlene : Seeker of Knowledge Darlene
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for October 30, 2009:

I've acctually thought about a museum on Autism Spectrum Disorders. The history, background, noteable persons, scientific information, social services, effective treatment information, flawed treatment ideas (sadly some are still around) personal insites and such. The design of the building would be soothing for autistic individuals and comfortable for their families.

Do you act your age?

Posted on Oct 31st, 2009 by Darlene : Seeker of Knowledge Darlene
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for October 20, 2009:

I think I rarely act according to my chronological age, though at times I do. How I act often depends on the senerio, Sometimes I act very childlike especially pertaining to food tastes and some forms of entertainment. (Examples: I love grilled cheese sandwitches, swings, animals, sparkles, lights, coloring and Disney). Other times I act much more mature or intellectually older, especially in educational pursuits. I tend to interact better, on a social level, with those older than myself. Intellectually I am more compatable with scholars at least ten years outside of my peer group.

Is your birth name the name that's "yours"?

Posted on Oct 31st, 2009 by Darlene : Seeker of Knowledge Darlene
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for September 20, 2009:

I think my birth name does relfect me very well. My name is Darlene (Middle English orgins not the French though they are simular/related) and means "Beloved" or darling. Though I'd hardly consider myself darling, I am, however, blessed with love. My family cares greatly for me and I have some friends who do so as well. In many ways I really an beloved.

Are you called more to the new or the old?

Posted on Oct 18th, 2009 by Darlene : Seeker of Knowledge Darlene
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for August 30, 2009:

I am called more to the old. I love history and want a career in archaeology (Egyptology to be specific). I like that which is familiar and don't care too much for change. I also socialize better with people who are older than myself.

Why is trust easy or difficult for you?

Posted on Sep 6th, 2009 by Darlene : Seeker of Knowledge Darlene
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for August 07, 2009:

For me trust is difficult. I do not seem to have the same ability to connect with people like others do. I have trouble reading social ques and understanding people in general. Besides this, I've been treated badly alot, so I am wary around others, sepecially those I do not know. The good side, onece my trust is earned my loyalty is difficult to break.

Do you believe honesty is always best?

Posted on Aug 12th, 2009 by Darlene : Seeker of Knowledge Darlene
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for July 28, 2009:

In my personal moral code, lying is unacceptable and vulgar except for extreme circumstances. The exception to this rule would be in the defense of a value such as someone's life, but not in making someone feel better. Honesty is an important virtue for me. I also rather people be truthful with me, without trying to "spare my feeling" with a falsehood of sorts.
